We have now raised over £80 through Easyfundraising-generated fund from online shopping, or through web searches done through Easysearch.  We have 15 signed-up members which is a significant increase this Christmas.  Thanks to those who have signed-up.

We are now on Facebook.  Our group is very locked-down as we're not sure about how best or how much to exploit Facebook.  After all, kids may well link to via our site to Facebook.  Please let us know if anything unsuitable is placed on the Facebook page.  By the way, if you use Mozilla Firefox rather than Internet Explorer to browse the web, you can download a plug-in called "Adblock Plus" and it will disable the Facebook ads.

Christmas Bazaar 2009...

Everyone at Friends of Rhiwbeina hope that you enjoyed the Christmas Bazaar on Saturday 5th December.

It was great to see so many people there, and we hope you enjoyed the day.  If you did, please tell others.  If we could improve, please tell us !

Thanks to all who donated mince pies, cakes, chocolate, bottles, whatever.

Thanks to everyone who helped on the day; parents, governors, teachers and teaching assistants alike - and of course, to Father Christmas, for taking time out at his busiest time of the year.

Thanks to the stallholders who came along.  We hope that your day was good.

Finally, thanks to all those local traders who donated raffle prizes.  You will be mentioned in dispatches (well, on this website anyway).

The Bazaar raised just under £1900.  This is a good total, but slightly down on previous.  Any ideas why?  Let us via this website, or via our Facebook site.

Events Review 08-09

Congratulations !

We have received the following endorsement from our local councillors,...

"We would like to take this opportunity of congratulating the F.O.R. for their tremendous enthusiasm and energy towards the Fete, Fun Run and several other events they organise. There was a true community spirit at the events, which were enjoyed by all. Looking forward to the next event!"

Cllrs. Jayne Cowan, Adrian Robson and Brian Jones - 24th June 2009

Security

Some of our events are aimed directly at children, but at present, we consider it to be a security risk for the exact date and time of these to be displayed on this website.  We also adopt a policy of caution regarding images of children on this website.

This website has no password protection, and adding such a feature (while technically possible) would be costly in administrative terms, with no guarantee of safety.  Hopefully, this policy can be reviewed in the future.
